Better known for her work with Bugz In The Attic, Roy Ayers
and Soul II Soul, Wunmi takes centre stage with her full band
at Out of Africa; a profound and infectious showcase of the
best in cutting-edge, contemporary African music.
Supporting our main act is nu-afro-jazz-dub songstress FAE
SIMON, whose warm voice and present-day lyrics are
reminiscent of Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Sarah Vaughn and
Ella Fitzgerald.
The night opens with DJ ILKA (BBC
Africa on your street) and closes with DJ
FREESTYLE (Voice of Africa radio) who’ll have
you feasting on an Afropean sound plate of kwaito, drum ‘n’
bass, tassou, funk, coupé décalé, R ‘n’
B, soukous, jazz, high life, broken beat, afrobeat and much
more.
