Welcome to the Out of Africa festival 2006

Sunday 28th May on the South Bank

A display of the wondrous variety and vibrancy of African culture through music, dancing, food, market stalls and workshops.

The Out of Africa festival is London’s largest and most diverse festival of African arts, which began in Kingly Court and Carnaby Street. The festival has now moved to the South Bank.


Programme

For your enjoyment we have put together a mouth-watering feast to delight all your senses.

Hosted by DJ Edu of Destination Africa BBC 1 Xtra and DJ Eric Soul (Afrogroov)

Main Stage
Presenting a diverse and dynamic showcase of dance and music styles that have come out of Africa.



Featuring: -
Live traditional dancing and drumming performances, Street dancing troupes, African Hip Hop groups, Gospel choirs and Afrobeat Jazz and Soukous bands.

Workshops

Join in on our djembe drum workshops, which are being held on the hour from 1pm – 6pm.

African Bazaar

Experience the exceptional colour, vibrancy and richness of African market life. Over thirty stalls will feature African products and services from clothing and crafts to storybooks.

Mouth water food

A key highlight of the African Bazaar is the finger licking food and drinks being provided by Jollof Pot and Manjaro Kitchen.

Get involved in 2007. We're looking for volunteers, stall holders and performers.
